David Cook/Carrie Underwood Duet in Jeopardy!

Oh Noes. If TPTB aren’t able to work out the copyright issues with the Van Halen song David Cook and Carrie Underwood taped for her holiday special, it’ll wind up on the cutting room floor!

David Cook wrapped up his marathon Declaration tour on Tuesday, now it’s off to do some songwriting, for the next album set to be released sometime next year.

In the meantime, David is busy this morning conducting phone interviews with various radio stations, to help promote the Carrie Underwood Holiday special set to air on FOX Monday December 7 at 8/7c pm.

He tells the AJ in the Morning show that he’s hoping “all the legalities and clearances get figured out” so that the Van Halen “Why Can’t This Be Love” duet can air. David and his band will perform “Lie” from the self-titled album on the special.

Right now, David is in New York writing, and next, he’ll go back to Missouri to watch little brother Andrew graduate from college. Little bro will be moving out to LA afterward.

David’s got a morning full of interviews. I’ll post more as they appear.
