Dallas – Season 1 Episode 3 – The Price You Pay – Recap | Source: Rickey.org | The X Factor | The Voice | American Idol

In a rather uneventful episode of Dallas, J.R. moves in with the Ewings, Christopher has a breakthrough, Rebecca and her brother scheme away, and we find out who sent that pesky email! I?m kinda loving where this is headed…

J.R. tells John Ross he knows that Marta isn?t really Marta, but he forgives him for his scheming ways anyway, and he wants to be a real father. Aww! Rebecca connects with good ?ol Ann over some shooting. Her brother shows up and interrupts, because he?s annoying like that. He grills Rebecca about how things are going with Christopher and gives her a flash drive to install in Christopher?s laptop that will give him full access. It still isn?t 100% clear what the duo is up to, but I?m sure it will become more out-in-the-open in later episodes.

J.R. sits down with the buyers for Southfork and tries to negotiate with them over the profit they will all make after the buying party finalizes the deal. Those eyebrows just do all the talking necessary, in my opinion. It?s a risky negotiation, but things go well. He also warns fake Marta about double crossing him again, because she only gets one pass on screwing him over.

In a dose of sad news, Bobby and Ann find out that there is a pretty good chance of the cancer reoccurring, and Bobby decides he wants to call off the selling of Southfork because he no longer feels like he?s giving up on life. After delivering the first payment to Lobell, John Ross is shocked to learn that Bobby has put the selling of Southfork on hold? ?indefinitely.? It doesn?t take long for John Ross and J.R. to retaliate though, paying a friend at the nursing home in women and steaks to make a call to Bobby. He pretends to be J.R.?s care physician and insists that J.R. moving into the family home for awhile would greatly benefit his health and speed up his recovery.

Elena and Christopher are still hard at work trying to figure out how to extract gas from the methane without causing tsunamis. The ridiculousness of this all is inconsequential because in the context of the show, it totally works. They have a little bit of a breakthrough followed by an awkward hug, after which Christopher?s wife calls Elena for a weirdly timed lunch. Rebecca wants the two of them to be friends and wants to know more about Christopher. Shouldn?t she already know most of this information already considering they?re married?

J.R. walks in on Cliff Barnes, an old frenemy making an offer on Southfork to Bobby, as soon as he enters the home. Christopher and Rebecca get an invitation to meet with ?Uncle Cliff?, who offers $1,000,000 in backing toward the methane experiments. Christopher refuses the money, sure that the only thing Cliff wants is to create a family feud. Meanwhile, Ann catches J.R. looking through some old family stuff. He takes his mother?s diary and hatches a plan with John Ross to get the Southfork selling back up and running.

Christopher sneaks out of bed in the wee hours of the night hard at work on his research while Rebecca gets a call from Tommy the next morning who harasses her about installing that flash drive. At breakfast at Southfork, John Ross threatens to take Bobby to court and expose all of Ms. Ellie?s secrets. J.R. stages the situation pretty well and it ends with him bitch-slapping John Ross across the face. When Elena wakes up, it?s like magic as Christopher has perfected his findings.

When Christopher goes to tell his father about his breakthrough, he has already signed to sell Southfork. Then: ?I have cancer.? What a way to break the news. Christopher cries in Elena?s arms, which seems harmless at first? until he sticks his tongue into her mouth. It would appear their rendezvous was nicely timed as Tommy is conveniently waiting nearby to snap a couple pics of the two on his cell phone. He sends the picture to Rebecca, who seems quite shaken up and unable to decided whether or not she should use the flash drive.

John Ross?s celebration of Bobby selling Southfork is short-lived as Lobell now wants $5,000,000 to keep quiet. Christopher tells Rebecca how much he loves her and that he wants to stay in Southfork till the sale is complete and then she tosses the flash drive into the trash. Ann also tells Bobby that she knows for a fact that it was J.R. who took their mother?s diary and the mishap at breakfast was staged, but he doesn?t seem phased by his brother?s behavior in the slightest.

My favorite moment of the episode comes in the last minute, when John Ross meets up with his contact who has some news for him: he has found out who sent the email. It was Rebecca! The backstabbing bitch was just starting to get sort-of likeable and now it?s clear that she has (or had?) a much larger agenda at hand.

So, this week?s episode wasn?t as good as the double whammy from last week but I still love this show and next week looks awesome. What did you think of this episode of Dallas?
