8/15: Clay Aiken live!

I drove straight to Chastain without a single second of traffic, which told me this wasn’t going to be a sellout. Indeed, Claymates filled up about half Chastain Park Amphitheatre. The folks at Caren West PR gave us good seats relatively close to the stage. Here’s a shot from my lousy camera:

Here are the first five songs:

Here You Go Again, Everything I Have, I Want to Know What Love Is, When I See You Smile and Right Here Waiting, all from his third album.

Right now, he got the crowd to sing the entire “Brady Bunch” theme. Then he proceeded to play more than a dozen TV theme songs, from “What’s Happenin’” to “Growing Pains” to “Diff’rent Strokes” to “Gimme a Break.” Oh, and “Charles in Charge.” I have to remind you that the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra was backing him and his two backup singers.
